Upper limb amputations are far more infrequent than lower limb amputations, and, for obvious reasons, upper limb prosthetics are far different from lower limb prosthetics.  Just think about the many, everyday activities that require the use of dexterous hands and fingers.  In recent years, technology has come a long way in furthering the abilities of prosthetic devices, enabling patients to function more easily and fluidly while accomplishing a variety of tasks.

Infinite Technologies is privy to the most up-to-date research regarding device functionality.  We work with above and below elbow amputees, as well as those with shoulder disarticulation.  Infinite Technologies tends to work more with body-powered, myoelectric (components are controlled by voluntary muscle action through an electric signal) and hybrid systems (combines body-powered and myoelectric components, such as a body powered elbow and a myoelectric hand) as opposed to passive prosthetics (those that are not functional and only cosmetic).

Common upper limb devices from Infinite Technologies include the i-LIMB hand and ProDigits (pictured below) by Touch Bionics.
