Testimonials

"Infinite Technologies has been a huge supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association for years.  Joe Terpenning comes to offer his service at our MDA sponsored clinic at Georgetown University Medical Center, and is very knowledgeable about the neuromuscular diseases that affect walking and the feet.  I always know that they will be working with the most cutting edge methods in the area.  We've seen many clients whose entire lives changed when they received their orthotics, it was just so much easier to get around, to be comfortable, and to be independent."

“I have been collaborating with Joe Terpenning since 2006 to customize the perfect pair of AFOs that fulfill my strict requirements of being durable, to withstand the demands of my active lifestyle, and yet remain aesthetically pleasing—in other words, NOT noticeable under pants or jeans. To complicate matters for Joe, my feet suffer from deformities due to past surgeries and my lower legs weaken yearly because of the progressive nature of my disease.

Rather than be daunted by my criteria, Joe and the entire staff at Infinite Technologies (Jeff, Rick, Amy, even Joe Smith) seem to thrive on fulfilling my demanding requirements. They seek new treatments (in my case, botox and serial casting) and new equipment that can endure my lifestyle, yet be compact and sleek so I am not constantly reminded of my challenges or draw attention to my legs. Just when I think there are no other options, Joe will present me with an innovative bracing material or the latest piece of equipment to provide me with a more natural gait or streamlined appearance.

Not only is the Infinite Technologies team responsive to my requirements, they are always there for me when I need emergency adjustments. Because Joe seeks the opinions of the entire staff about my feet, I have a team readily available that is familiar with my case to adjust my braces or replace a joint at the last minute, eliminating downtime without my braces.

Likewise, the administrative staff will go out of their way to find an appointment for me or take the lead in pursuing insurance reimbursements from my unresponsive insurance company.  I am always shocked (and delighted) when they have found ways to encourage my insurance to pay a bigger portion of the fees. I know I would face a greater challenge than I confront daily to find an orthotist with Joe’s patience, experience, and innovation.”

"I have PAD (peripheral artery disease). In addition, in June 2004 I required open heart surgery to perform 5 bypasses because my arteries were blocked: one at 100 percent, one at 90 percent, and the other three at 75 percent. That was scary enough until I developed a severe infection in my right foot that required amputation of the lower portion of my right leg in August 2006.  Since my amputation, I am fortunate enough to have been referred to you, Joe Smith, at Infinite Technologies to create my prosthetic.  I have many reasons to be angry and feeling 'down on my luck,' but the care I received by both Dr. Mukherjee and you has made the biggest difference in my life.  You provided my first prosthesis with a lightweight carbon graphite dynamic foot, which I received in November 2006, and helped me to learn to keep my balance and walk to the point that I did not require a wheelchair, walker, or cane when I was wearing it.  About two years later, I received my second prosthesis with a more flexible ankle and shock absorbing carbon graphite dynamic foot.  This prosthesis has allowed me so much more freedom of movement and agility.  For example, when our mailbox was damaged and in need of replacement, I ran back and forth from the mailbox to the garage serveral times and surprised myself when I realized I was not even thinking about it.  I cannot tell you how this new leg/ankle has raised my spirits and helped me to feel 'normal' again.  I am only 63 years old, but I was feeling ancient.  Most important for me is to be able to walk/run comfortably on any terrain since continual exercise is one of the major factors in keeping my left leg healthy and keeping my heart in good shape. Also, I have two wonderful grandchildren that I continue to run after when babysitting.

Joe, thank you so much for helping me to be active again.

“Losing my leg was the worst day of my life.   While lying in my hospital bed recovering from my surgery and wondering if I'd ever be able to live a normal life again, I was visited by Joe Smith of Infinite Technologies to talk about a prosthetic leg.  With Joe's help, I was the first amputee at Mount Vernon Hospital to walk out with a prosthetic leg, instead of the usual course of treatment which calls for getting a leg months later.  Joe has been by my side ever since, every step of the way.  His help and encouragement have been invaluable.  He and his staff are #1 in every way and a pleasure to work with.  If you are ever in the unfortunate situation where you lose a limp, I hope you will choose Infinite Technologies to help you through the process."
